Today I am going to show you how to use “Curves” in PicMonkey to get that VINTAGE MATTE look. This look is very popular right now and there are several blogs dedicated to only posting their photos with the Vintage effect. My favorite place to use it is on Instagram. This process is also very easy to do and I think you will have great fun playing around with it.
Open your photo in PicMonkey:
Step 1. Open the “Effects” tab.
Step 2. Scroll down and open the “Curves” tab.
Step 3. Make sure the Channel is set to “RGB”
Step 4. Set a “Point” directly where the photo shows, to do this just click where you want the point.
Step 5. Grab the bottom left corner of the line and drag it straight up. Make sure you don’t have any strange black hues bleeding through the photo, if you do drag the line you just grabbed down until that black hue is gone. Hit “Apply”. At this point your photo should have that dull matte finish look.
Step 6. Open the “Basic Edits” tab, then the “Exposure tab, and drag the “Brightness” slider to the right until you get the desired look. Hit “Apply”.
Step 7. Open the “Effects” tab, then “Rapture” tab and adjust the slider to 30%. Hit “Apply”
Now sit back and admire your VINTAGE photo.
