Buy an oversized ugly painting at a garage sale for pennies and turn it into a new piece of art by framing out an existing painting or sculptureI purchased an oversized ugly painting at a garage sale for $1, not sure of what I would do with it but I knew a dollar was a good buy for a true wooden frame, and turn it into a new piece of art by framing out my cow print.

Buy an oversized ugly painting at a garage sale for pennies and turn it into a new piece of art by framing out an existing painting or sculptureI had my hubby load it into the truck for me, it was covered in cobwebs and I really didn’t want to touch it. When I got it home I pulled the staples on the back, took out the painting, and gave the wooden frame a good cleaning with a heavy duty degreaser, and I then it was finally ready for a  fresh coat of my favorite vintage paint color called…Refresh

Add an old frame to an existing piece of art to showcase it, it's a frame within in frame. I purchased an old painting from a garage sale, took out the painting, add color to the frame and accented my favorite cow print I wasn’t too excited when hubby wanted to stop at the sale, I even debated on just sitting in the truck while he browsed, but now I’m glad I got out. I think a dollar was a good buy and then I was in the mood to hit a few more sales. We didn’t come home with anything else but it was fun to search for treasures.

I’m just not into doing much decorating right now, so I’m going to be content with my small bouquet.

I think I just mowed the yard yesterday for the last time this year. The grass just isn’t growing anymore so that’s a sure sign fall is here. I’m actually glad to have that task over with for a while. It takes about 4 hours to mow, and I always feel like it’s time wasted. I’m always thinking up a billion other things I should be doing instead of making countless passes, sitting on my butt, on that darn contraption.

Linda thank you. I actually purchased it for a different intention but it didn’t work outs so I went with plan B.

Love the moo!! Ever since we moved to a more environment, I have acquired a new love and respect for cows. They are awesome!!! BTW is the canvas that the wood frame was around still good…if yes, you can always use it to do your own painting!

I love cows too, they are so gentle and love to be pet. No the canvas had holes in it so it went into my burn pile.

Kris I love a great cow print too. I have two different ones and I never seem to tire of them.

I think it is adorable and frames the furniture and cow picture so well. I am curious about the log with the coasters.
I remember when you painted dots on them but how did you hollow out a log. I am guessing a power tool of some
sorts. Just want to say, I can’t believe you want to build and leave this cute place!

Debbie, Come read my post that will be up on Wednesday….new plans for moving. Yes the log circles are coasters and the caddy I keep them in is just a thick piece of bark from a downed log, they are all over in the ditches where I live so I just stopped and grabbed one.

Congratulations. You did a really good job. The frame looks more beautiful than before. It’s really prominent at the new place.
