I purchased an oversized ugly painting at a garage sale for $1, not sure of what I would do with it but I knew a dollar was a good buy for a true wooden frame, and turn it into a new piece of art by framing out my cow print.
I had my hubby load it into the truck for me, it was covered in cobwebs and I really didn’t want to touch it. When I got it home I pulled the staples on the back, took out the painting, and gave the wooden frame a good cleaning with a heavy duty degreaser, and I then it was finally ready for a fresh coat of my favorite vintage paint color called…Refresh.
I wasn’t too excited when hubby wanted to stop at the sale, I even debated on just sitting in the truck while he browsed, but now I’m glad I got out. I think a dollar was a good buy and then I was in the mood to hit a few more sales. We didn’t come home with anything else but it was fun to search for treasures.
The only fall decorating I’ve done in the living room so far this year was paint the ginger jar orange, and add a few faux sunflower blooms. I’m just not into doing much decorating right now, so I’m going to be content with my small bouquet.
I may get in the mood more once the weather takes a turn. I think I just mowed the yard yesterday for the last time this year. The grass just isn’t growing anymore so that’s a sure sign fall is here. I’m actually glad to have that task over with for a while. It takes about 4 hours to mow, and I always feel like it’s time wasted. I’m always thinking up a billion other things I should be doing instead of making countless passes, sitting on my butt, on that darn contraption.
