Michigan Apple Orchard

Apple Picking Season in Michigan. Beautiful Fall Color to See and a Covered Wagon Ride Into the Orchard I think hubby and I enjoyed the last nice weekend that Michigan will see for quite some time, by spending the afternoon at the apple orchard taking in the sights and picking a 1/2 bushel of apples.

The organic apples have thicker skins and not every apple is perfect like you see in the store but that doesn’t matter to me they all taste the same no matter what they look like.

We couldn’t have asked for more perfect weather. After purchasing our 1/2 bushel bag we had the option of riding in the covered wagon or walking into the orchard. We chose to walk and enjoy nature along the way.

We found a new variety this year that we’ve never tasted. The flavor was a cross between a lemon and an apple.

I think it could even be my new favorite apple. Don’t hold your breath in anticipation of me telling you what they are because there was no sign to label that particular section of apples, so we have no idea what they were.

So we just put them and our bag and I’ve been enjoying them every day since.

Apple Picking Season in Michigan. Beautiful Fall Color to See and a Covered Wagon Ride Into the Orchard This time of year we have to enjoy those rare days when the sun shines here in Michigan. I hate the transition from rain to snow, I would rather have just snow. The white drifts always make it look clean and fresh again outside. Michigan tends to go through a brown dead time for a spell and it get’s depressing for some, but apple pickin’ day was beautiful.
