How to Keep the Bunnies from Eating the Beans

I changed my vegetable garden spot this year and
am having trouble with the rabbits or deer eating
the beans.
I planted further from the house and
the critters feel free
to raid my tender bean shoots.
Just look how they nibbled the tops from the bean.
Out of frustration I came up with a fast, easy, inexpensive
Make a dome to cover the bed.
I needed it to still let in the sunshine and the rain.
So I grabbed the closest thing I had to accomplish the project.
Chicken wire, gloves, and wire nippers.
(I had everything on hand, so off to work I went)
It took less than 10 minutes from start to finish and that included
gathering the materials.
I cut a length of chicken wire 2 foot longer than the bed
and started forming it into the shape I wanted it.
I just stuck the raw edge into the dirt around the beans
and it gave it a dome effect.
It will be easy to remove once the beans
get bigger.  The rabbits don’t like them once
they have matured.
It was a quick, simple fix and I
will be rewarded with a bean crop this year.

Dawn, great idea! Nothing is more sad than giving your greens to a greedy rabbit! Thankfully, we don’t have any. The hawks take care of them.
Can’t wait to see what you will do with all your yummy veggies!

Those bunnies! We have a few but for some reason they stay out of the vegetable garden. Good idea! I do that too to keep the birds from eating my seeds before they have a chance to sprout.
