The strangest thing is going on. I have 4 flowering pear trees on the property but only one is in full bloom right now. How can that possibly be? They’re all bout 20 feet from one another and get the same amount of sunlight. This has never happened before they always all bloom at the same time.
I know we’ve had a very slow start to our spring but the pears should all be flowering at the same time. Anyone have any ideas as to what this is all about? I went and checked and all trees have new buds so I know they are still alive and they have been in the ground for about 7 years and have all bloomed every spring. This is such a mystery, I will have to keep a close eye out to see if the others ever do anything. I used to have a flowering plum that only flowered every other year, but I know that’s not the case with pear trees. This is one of the most beautiful trees I have ever planted, it turns a glorious bright yellow, then orange, then red as it nears Autumn. I also love that it’s not a tree that sheds tiny undeveloped fruit onto the ground, it just produces blooms….sweet smelling blooms.
