Pieces and Parts of Home
Log home living!
This is the hardest home to decorate.
The walls, ceiling, and floor will always remain the color you see.
I don’t care for the lodge look, so decorating is always a struggle.
If anyone has any suggestions on something different, please leave a comment.

I love the lodge look! how about all the soft furnishings/throws/drapes and rugs in light neutral colours to tone it down and soften?
thanks for taking part in Good Life Weds!

I have the same challenge. I am not of fan of the lodge look either. I have a lot of birds and pinecones in my house.
Looks like you have done pretty good!
All the colorful fabrics really give a punch to so much wood on the walls. Great look.
Hi Dawn-
I am not be a big fan of the log look either, but I think you have made it work. You are talented! The fact that you edited your color scheme to only a few colors and used lots of texture and shine really makes the space feel nothing like a cabin. If you are bothered by having all the wood, perhaps add some large white and color based art canvas’s on the wall. You can buy them at craft stores pretty inexpensively. Just swash some color on them and hang. It will break up the large walls of all wood.
Thanks for linking up to the party and showing us your style.
My best- Diane
You have done a great job! Love the colors you have used so far…I’m a very neutral color person….lightening up always works for me….Thanks for sharing!
Hi Dawn, I was thinking maybe you could cover the walls with fabric??? Something to think about, at least. Your home does look very pretty. I love the colors you chose, and all of the flowers.
