Easy Fall Natural Centerpiece
MICHIGAN IS SHAPING UP TO LOOK LIKE FALL. THE TREES ARE CHANGING COLOR, THE DAYS ARE GETTING SHORTER, AND I WENT ON AN EARLY MORNING DECORATING SPREE AND ADDED AN EASY FALL NATURAL CENTERPIECE TO THE DINING ROOM!
It’s happening, I thought I’d go to the basement and bring a few fall things up to decorate the cabin with and before I knew it the entire place was fall ready. Do you ever have those times when you have so much on your mind you just have to stay busy or your minds on overload? Well that’s what this day was like.
My intentions were to grab my faux fall stems and create a natural centerpiece for the kitchen island. Well one thing turned into another and before the morning was over I’d done 4 loads of laundry, cleaned the entire house, and decorated for fall. The funny part is the kitchen island centerpiece never even came to be. I got so busy with everything else it turned into an arrangement for the dining room table instead.
I really love decorating for fall more than any other season. The colors just work best with our cabin, and I love that it looks so natural. We have a big maple tree in our circle drive and the leaves are already a bright crimson color. I wish they held up better I’d much prefer to decorate with real branches instead of faux, but Hobby Lobby has some pretty realistic faux’s these days.
I had most everything to make the arrangement except the maple branches. I’m sure you’ve seen the other stems used around our house in other ways. I’d really rather use what I have anyway and give it a new look. I don’t keep things the same for long so it’s nice when I can reuse things in different areas of our home over and over again.
The entire main level of the cabin got a face lift with everything fall. I thought I’d need to make a few new pillow covers to tie everything together, but after digging through my stash I had two that worked perfectly so that’s what I went with. I hate to even mention this but my wheels started turning planning on what I’m going to do for Christmas.
Every year I say I’m not putting up a tree, and I’m not going to go all out with decorating but the closer it gets I always change my mind. I think I just have to get one holiday or season over before I can even plan for the next. It’s just to overwhelming going into stores right now and seeing Halloween, Thanksgiving, and Christmas things all on the shelves right now. How do you feel about it?
Beautiful! Fall is my favorite.
Dawn, your centre piece looks beautiful. I love decorating with natural items that I have already around the house. I hate when I see in the stores that they are already a couple of holidays ahead. It really makes me feel too rushed and that I can not even enjoy the season that we are in .
Dawn..it looks beautiful!! I love the fall colors also and the decorations can be used right through Thanksgiving which is a plus for me! Loving our still warm weather here in Michigan…
I can at least get my mind into Autumn with your designs, as our Missouri weather is still full-throttle summer.
Bravo, once again!
Here in Indianapolis, we’re expecting high 80s and even predicting 90 this week, so I just can’t get in the mood. The only fall thing I’ve done is pull out all my poor tired-of-summer tomato plants. My pepper plants are still producing like crazy and I can’t even give them all away. Once we get cooler weather, I’ll feel differently, but right now the heat and still hanging around humidity is holding me back.
Your centerpiece looks amazing.
