SEE HOW TO SWAP OUT A FEW SPRING AND SUMMER FLOWERS, FOR FALL COLORS TO CARRY YOUR LANDSCAPING THROUGH THE REST OF THE SEASON! TODAY I’M SHARING OUR FIRE PIT AREA WITH BEFORE AND AFTER PICS!

Swapping out spring flowers around the fire pit area to fall flowers The potted flowers in our fire pit area were just stunning this year. I attribute it to all the miracle grow I dumped on them, this year I used the liquid that hooks right to our house and every time I watered I gave them a dose. With that being said I didn’t want to gut the pretty planters totally but I did wan’t to add fall colors to them, so here’s what I did.

Fall Flowers Around the Fire Pit Area of a Log HomeI made a quick trip to Walmart and discovered they had hanging baskets stuffed with wave petunias in a beautiful shade of rusty orange, butter yellow, and gold. My plan was to go with mums but these caught my eye and I decided I’d work them into my plan instead. By the way this is the first year I’ve noticed stores here in Michigan carrying fall colored flowers other than mums.

Changing out the Spring Flowers to Fall Flowers Here’s what I did: I took the purple and pink flowers out of the pot and replaced them with hanging basket petunias from Wally world. It was the perfect swap, it was easy, and it now feels like fall around the fire pit. I was so happy that I didn’t decided to pull everything from the planter and start over. I feel like the mix works perfectly for the next few months or at least until the frost kills them off.

Swapping out spring flowers around the fire pit area to fall flowers I did grab mums to use elsewhere in our landscaping and I’ll be back to share that with you. Our temps here have dropped to 60 so it certainly feels like fall in my neck of the woods. We went from 90 and humid to 60, breezy, rainy, and overcast. Yep that pretty much sums up how Michigan weather works. I dont’ mind it, I like the cooler days and I like being able to layer clothing again.

Swapping out spring flowers around the fire pit area to fall flowers I’m excited to use the fire pit again. I feel a good S’more party coming on with the girls from work.  I’ve promised them a bonfire once the weather got colder and the days are darker earlier. They laughed when I told them I couldn’t wait untill 10 o’clock to start the party…..I’m old and that’s past my bed time.

Swapping out spring flowers around the fire pit area to fall flowers I’m so glad I have my photos to refer back on. I’m planning on doing something similar next year and this is a good place to remind me what looks I’ve created in the past and try and come up with something new or maybe just copy this again.
