Easy Kitchen Window Christmas Garland
I had a few spare minutes Friday morning so I decided to head to the basement and grab my 3 favorite artificial pine trees. I purchased them at Michaels years ago and they’re still a favorite for me at Christmas time. They’re also an easy way to decorate, they came with the burlap sacks around the bottom so all I do every year is add ribbon around them to match the color theme I am using that year. This year I am using turquoise, rust, chocolate brown, and blush (you can see the tree done in those colors here.) The only other thing I did was add ribbon to a few blush colored ornaments and tied them to the curtain rod. I decided to keep with the rustic, natural element theme I was going with this year and opted for no additional trinkets on the trees.
I also kept my favorite rock on the window sill, for some reason I have a thing for rocks and drag home a few good ones every year.
Here’s some details on the kitchen: the light fixture is an exterior barn light that I painted with oil rubbed bronze spray paint, the countertops are black concrete with exposed aggregate, and the sink is an undermount black silgranite, the window sills are 8 inches deep. I love them for decorating purposes.
Do you add any Christmas decorations to your kitchen?
That looks soooooo pretty Dawn!!
Thank you Martina it’s simple but I like it.

Shelia, I am Christmas shopping online right now, so I hope I get it all done today.
I have a tree like yours on my kitchen table, decorated. But I think your trio is just simply beautiful! My mom hangs ornaments on her curtain rods too. Pretty Dawn, Kathleen in Az
Kathleen, I think those trees are very popular right now. This is the first year I tried the ornaments on the rod, I was looking for a fast decor idea and it fit the bill.
Perfect! And I collect rocks, too. ๐
Barb, I think we have discussed before how we both like rocks, glad to know Im not the only one.
Love the trees on the window sills makes such a pretty decoration!
Thank you Rondell, its so easy too.
Sooooooo pretty Dawn. I love the simple and pretty look. Love that you did that pretty untraditional ribbon too. It really looks so nice on your window sill.
Kris
Kris, no traditional colors here this year. I am already thinking about using red next Christmas though. Wow, I can’t even get by this one and Im thinking of next year. Im nuts!!!

Suzan I think those trees are very popular this year, and I bet Ikeas price was much better than what I spent.
I add a few things to the kitchen, a little fabric tree garland to the window, some hanging snowmen decorations, and Christmas towels and table runners. I’ve added hanging ornaments for years to various windows in the house, in fact I still have some older ones packed away with tinsel to hang them. The more recent ones have silver or gold ribbon. I have one little tree like yours and this year it is in with my village
Linda, I need to get some Christmas towels. Maybe I can make some in the colors I am using this year.
Very nice Dawn..those little trees do look natural..I was thinking of hanging ornaments that way but never got around to it..
Nancy I know I can’t believe how close we are to Christmas, Im going to have to post every day to get all my things on my blog before Christmas.
Love, love, love!!!! Beautifully done!
Thank you Kathy and it’s so easy.
