Vegetable Garden | Seeds & Plants
WHAT ARE YOUR PREFERENCES WHEN PLANTING A VEGETABLE GARDEN WHEN IT COMES TO LIVE PLANTS OR STARTING FROM SEEDS? TODAY I’LL SHARE WITH YOU MY SELECTION OF SEEDS AND LIVE PLANTS!
When planting a garden itโs all personal preference. For me I do better buying some items as live plants and others as direct sew seeds. Over the years Iโve started my garden all by seed under grow lights. Iโve watered them and nurtured them for months, hardened them off, and planted only to lose them once transferred to the soil.
For me I do what works best in Michiganโs climate and for me thatโs buying many items in plant form and the easier things to grow I plant by seed. Below I have a list of how I purchase my vegetables. Michigan just doesnโt have a long growing season so having starter plants makes all the difference come harvest time.
Right now my plants are hanging out in my thrifted little red wagon waiting for the rains to stop and the soil to warm up. If you missed my last post about clearing and prepping the raised garden beds you can see that HERE. The garden center was having a sale on live plants so I didnโt want to pass up the opportunity to get them cheaper. Iโll keep them under cover on the porch until all threat of frost is over and Iโll anxiously await a warm day to get them into the ground. I’m getting excited to get the process going so fingers crossed that the warm planting days are getting near!
