Fall Harvest Simmer Pot | Make Your Home Smell Amazing

WHO CAN RESIST THE SPICY WARM SCENTS OF FALL, THOSE THAT REMIND YOU OF THE HARVEST SEASON, CRISP DAYS,  AND ALL THE MAGICAL COLORS IT BRINGS!

Fall Harvest Simmer Pot Recipe Can Be Used as a Stove Top or Crock Pot Simmer, Make Your Home Smell Amazing and FestiveSo I’m obsessed with delicious warm scented candles once the weather turns chilly, and this is a great alternative to a burning candle. I’ll have to admit anything pumpkin spice or warm apple pie seems to strike my fancy this time of year so I gathered up a few fruits and spices to make myself a Fall Harvest Simmer Pot.

I happened to have 2 gallons of apple cider leftover from a get together at the fire department, apples from all my fall decor, and an orange that had seen better days in the crisper. All I had to add was cinnamon sticks and cloves from the pantry and I grabbed a bag of cranberries while at the grocery store just because I love the pop of color it gives to the pot.

I wish you could smell my house right now, it drips with the aromas of fall. It reminds me of a hay ride on a crisp fall day, when our 4H group used to meet for our fall get together. Don’t you just love it when certain smells invoke a pleasant memory? A time when my boys were small and still did all those fun things a parent loves to be a part of.

Fall Harvest Simmer PotWhat you’ll need

  • Crock pot or Dutch oven
  • Apple cider (fill pot 3/4 full)
  • Orange
  • Apple
  • Cinnamon Sticks
  • Cloves
  • Cranberries

If using a crock pot set on low, leave the lid off, and stir from time to time. If using a Dutch oven on the stove keep flame on low, stir from time to time and keep an eye on the liquid level. Don’t let anything boil dry.

TIP: When I turn my pot off for the night I add the cover overnight and start it back up in the morning. If you don’t like leaving it out you can refrigerate it and use it several times before disposing of the contents.

I am so going to do this. I usually buy a bag of dried pot pouri at Christmas and boil it on the stove. Thanks again for a great idea.

    1. Debbie, I’ve been using this one all week, when it boils down I add a little water or more apple cider.
