Rustic Thanksgiving Place Setting | With Printable

First of all I can’t believe that it’s November already, time sure seems to move much faster the older I get. I spent the week taking down all the pumpkins from around the house (if you follow me on Instagram you witnessed the mess) and boxing them up to go to the basement. We don’t go all out for Thanksgiving, it’s normally just the four of us so I like to make things simple.

I started digging around in my stash of decor items and decided to use pears, pinecones, and acorns to decorate with before the Christmas stuff comes out and that’s what led to this Rustic Thanksgiving Table idea. As you know I like to use what I already have and just give it a new look from time to time. It feels fresh and new again that way, and I get a whole new look without doing any shopping and believe it or not I’m entirely fine with doing it that way. 

It’s actually quite fun using the same ole’ stuff in different ways, and every time I come up with a new idea those old things seem somehow new again to me and put a smile on my face all over again. I started by adding a black and white buffalo check runner to the table, and next a eucalyptus runner, I seem to be a faux runner hoarder I seem to have them in every form of greenery I can think of.

Then I knew I needed to add a little something shiny so next was the galvanized chargers, white dinner plates, and my rustic distressed salad plates. I felt like pears worked well for fall, and I’d already used my apples earlier in the season so pears it is! It still wasn’t quite enough so I created a simple place tag to represent the Thanksgiving holiday.

Rather than cut it out I decided to rip the printable tag into the shape I was looking for. I did print mine on card stock the color of a brown paper bag, but I added a printable below to mimic the paper if you don’t have that color on hand or printing  it on white card stock will look fantastic too. I was just going for a more rustic look and felt the brown fit the look. 

Then old glass spice jars were nestled amongst the garland and a simple white skinny taper candle was added to each spice jar. I didn’t worry about keeping them upright, I quite like the look of them leaning every which way it just added to that simple rustic look I love so much. 

And I couldn’t resist taking a photos of the smoke rolling off the candles once I put them out. If you’d like to recreate any part of this look I’ve added a source list below of where to find the exact items I’m using along with the printable tag you’ll need to use as the place cards.
