Farm To Table

WELCOME, I’M GOING TO SHARE A FEW PHOTOS FROM OUR FARM TO TABLE DATE NIGHT HUBBY AND I ATTENDED THIS WEEK. IF YOU LIKE RUSTIC, THIS IS THE PLACE TO BE!

A local farm was hosting the event “Farm to Table” Monday night and I was lucky enough to get tickets before they sold out. It was a two hour feast of locally grown produce, fruits, meats, wine, and beer and the proceeds went to support Marshall MI, farmers market.

Dreamfield Acres Barn, Farm To Table EventIt all took place in this restored big red barn at Dreamfield Acre’s. Let me tell you I could get used to dining with friends while our waitress brought dish after dish, course after course of delicious fresh food.  I’ve added the menu below so you can see all the things I sampled. I had one small spoonful of everything. I only wanted a taste so I’d have room to try everything.

Farm To Table MenuI passed on the Hors d’oeuvres  and desserts knowing I’d never have room for the real food when it arrived. There wasn’t one thing on the menu that I didn’t like, everything was the type of food you savored and it had such a burst of flavor that I could’ve defiantly overeaten if I hadn’t restrained myself.

Rustic Decor IdeasThe inside of the barn is just stunning with the right amount of wood, fairy lights, and crystal chandeliers. Of course the black and white buffalo check place mats along with the fresh cut sunflowers was a hit in my book for any occasion. The place held 200 people, it has no air conditioning, and it was 82 and humid, that was it’s only downfall. They did have big barn fans running but all they did was push around hot air. Maybe events in barn are supposed to be authentic so you get the barn experience but I would have preferred cooler weather.

They both did a fantastic job keeping us stocked in amazing food that hubby wanted to make sure and tip each girl (even though I’m pretty sure that was included in our ticket price). Any who you should have seen the look on the young girls face when hubby handed her a tip and told her how well she did. You would have thought he’d handed that girl a million bucks. Her eyes lit up and she was so thankfully for the money and so proud of herself. That made my evening seeing how appreciative she was.

Rustic Flower BouquetUs ladies got to keep the flowers on the table along with the galvanized buckets. I though that was so nice of them, letting us take home the fresh cut arrangements. I attend the Marshall Farmers Market every Saturday morning before work, I noticed the growers attending event. It was nice they were able to join in on the good food and take a little time away from their farms.

Oh I forgot to mention right when I walked in there was a table of mini water bottles and also pitchers of water that had cucumber basil water over ice. I think I consumed two pitchers myself, not only because of the heat but the water was amazing. It’s flavor was just so refreshing I couldn’t stop sipping on it.

And if you wanted to sit close to the band in a comfy spot, they had seating areas set up around the barn with these stunning velvet and leather pieces. I just love the burst of color they added to the place and the retro feel they had. I just couldn’t be happier with our entire evening.

Farm to Table Event Seating AreaAll in all it was a wonderful evening and I can’t wait to attend the event again next year. I’m also going to try and recreate a few of the things from the menu. The first will be the squash casserole, I could have devoured the whole serving bowl myself it was so scrumptious.

  1. Sounds like a wonderful evening with quite a varied menu. Also, someone did an amazing job of decorating for the event. How cozy – even in a large space – with tablecloths, placemats and even upholstered furniture for relaxing. I would have loved it too. Very well done!

WOW ! My kind of a place. I totally love a barn and being raised on a farm, I totally understand the work required to run a farm. The barn was such beautifully decorated and the rustic feel would have been right up my alley. The food sounds incredible . I can see why the tickets would sell out fast. Thanks for sharing , Dawn.

It looked like such a fun event. The tables were spectacular. I want to know what was in the cellophane bag?
