As the days get longer and the sun is shining it’s given me the ambition to put away all things winter and start refreshing the cabin with signs of spring. A simple rustic basked filled with faux branches is all it took to give the kitchen island a fresh look. All you’ll need is a basket and faux or real branches; plop them into the basket hap-hazardously and let them cascade naturally to get the look.

I picked the basket up at a garage sale last year for under a dollar and the faux branches I’ve had forever and if you’ve been following me for a while you probably recognize them.

I don’t know about you but I like to redecorate after a good cleaning. It just seems like the right time to me. While I had my momentum going I gave the kitchen a good scrubbing and added this simple basket spring touch.

I’ve been trying something new with all my stainless appliances. Once a day I give them a wipe down with a 50/50 mixture of pine-sol and water. I mix it in a spray bottle and wipe them down with a micro fiber cloth. I have the stainless appliances that don’t show finger prints but I’ve noticed by doing this once a day it keep them sparkly clean.

The next spring task I need to tackle in the kitchen is going through the pantry again and getting it organized. It’s pretty bare in there I’ve moved most of our stock to the shelves in the basement. I don’t know why but I like it better down there. I may have to repurpose this area into something new, I just don’t know what that would be yet.

I could free up some of our cupboard space by moving some of my bigger items like crockpots and instant pots into the pantry. I have outlets in there so that may just be the perfect idea. Now my wheels are turning and I need to get into that pantry and make some changes, LOL.

I always love to incorporate your great ideas into my living spaces, and this one is perfect!
I bought an iron railing, with hooks, after seeing this one a thousand times in your posts, and your wreath ideas is fantastic!
Happy Spring!Li
Lisa, so glad you found that iron rail you were looking for. It’s a fun spot to display new things but I must admit I dont change the look often enough. It’s going to be 50 here today so Spring is creeping in ๐
That mixture really makes your appliances shine. Just a reminder, Pinesol is toxic to pets. Can cause poisoning, skin irritation and seizures.
Shirley, Didn’t know that about Pine-sol. Luckily I dont have any pet anymore. If it does that to animals I wonder what it does to humans??
