Irresistible Hot Chocolate Recipe: A rich and creamy Delight
Who doesn’t enjoy a warm cup of hot chocolate on a cold winter’s day? I’ll be the first in line for that. As a kid, I remember opening up a packet of Swiss Miss Cocoa and thinking it was pretty darn good. We always had the sugar-free version in the house, but looking back, I remember that lingering flavor of the artificial sweetener. You won’t experience that with this recipe. It’s just pure delight and extremely fast and easy to make. If you can get your hands on a milk pan with a built-in pour spout, it makes it so easy to pour into the mug without spilling a drop. I do add my secret ingredient to the mix… its instant coffee. Chocolate always tastes better with a touch of coffee flavor added in!
Ingredients
- 1 ½ cups of milk (Feel free to use your preferred type; I personally enjoy unpasteurized cow’s milk with the cream intact.)
- 1 tablespoon of cocoa powder
- 1 scoop of chocolate protein powder or collagen powder (If your powder is unsweetened, add 1T of your preferred sugar.)
- ¼ teaspoon of vanilla extract
- ¼ teaspoon of instant coffee (if making for kids use decaf coffee)
- A pinch of sea salt
- Pour milk into a small saucepan and place it on the stove over low heat.
- Add cocoa, protein powder, vanilla, coffee, and salt to the milk.
- Whisk continuously until all the ingredients are well combined.
- Heat the milk until it begins to bubble, but ensure it doesn’t reach a boil.
- Remove from the stove and serve. Enjoy!

Sounds delicious, Happy Thanksgiving to you and your family.
