Kitchen Sink Organization Using Rev-A-Shelf Tip Out Sink Front Trays

I’d purchased tip out sink front trays from Rev-A-Shelf this week because I was tired of seeing the cleaning items left in my sink, and when I came home yesterday hubby had the sink organizer all installed for me.

I normally keep them in a dishwasher silverware tray placed in the sink. I know it’s not a pretty sight but it is a good way to keep them sanitary. Every night I just pop the tray of cleaning items into the dishwasher and run them through a cycle along with the dirty dishes.

It’s bad enough that I keep the dirty silverware in the sink in the same way until I load the dishwasher. It makes it easier for me doing it this way and my family will actually add their dirty flatware to the basket if they can see it.

So it was time to add the trays. The directions say the Rev-A-Shelf system takes less than 30 minutes to install but hubby didn’t find that to be the case. He said if the sink hadn’t been installed it could be done in that amount of time but with the sink in place it was a little trickier to do with not much room to work, but he managed.

He had no idea what they were even for but he installed them anyway. Once I showed him by adding the scrubbies and such he said it made sense. Apparently he just put them in and never even looked at the photo on the box. He’s a man and doesn’t really care what takes place in the kitchen as long as there’s food on the table at mealtime. The kitchen is my domain for sure.

By the way have you ever noticed m sink faucet is off center? The sink is made that way and I’ve never noticed another like it. If you’d like to know the secret to keeping a black Silgranit sink clean you can read my method here.

Just in case you want to know: The countertops are black concrete, and the shaker cabinets are painted with Sherwin Williams Lotus Pod cabinet paint, the hardware cup pulls, knobs, and handles are from Hickory Hardware, and the cabinets are custom made by the Amish.

We added the drawer to hide scrubbies in our last kitchen when we remodeled, but we don’t have one in this kitchen and I always hate looking at them.

I had those same tip-outs and have had them for a few years now. I love them. It keeps the sink area so much neater.

I have one long tip out cubby in front of my sink. I love it, it comes in so handy. I did not even ask for them when I had the cabinets made, I did not know they existed but my cabinet maker (a friend who has owned and operated a cabinet shop for 25 years) figured I would love them.

Pam, I am so surprised the Amish didn’t recommend them to me. He added every other gadget into my kitchen, but Im glad I found them. It’s such a great way to control the clutter.

I love the use of otherwise wasted space. I have been researching how to put for kick drawers in the kitchen. I don’t understand why this is not standard too. Thanks for your great ideas.
