Patriotic Living Room Decor Ideas
Here’s my take on a patriotic livingroom. I spent zero dollars and created a red, white, and blue space. While going through my pillow covers and decorating items I decide I would need to have a garage sale. If we’re to move I’ll need less things and who want’s to move it all first and then try and sell.
I’ll definitely be getting rid of the slipcovered sofa and chairs, I’ve been itching for new furniture anyway so now’s a good time to start looking. I so love the concept of slipcovered pieces so I may do it again just a different brand with different covered slips than I already have.
I’ve always wanted a gray set and a true red set. Right now I’m using the denim on the chairs and the butter on the sofa. I had the white on before and they were looking pretty dirty so it was time to change them out. If you follow me on Instagram you already knew what I was up to.
It’s always quite a task to get the slips back on. I love that they fit tight, but my hands hurt for days after changing them….that’s why I split it up into a 2 day process. One day for the chairs and one day for the sofa, we also need a place to sit while pieces dry. I put the slips on wet, and they go on so much easier. I’m not sure I could actually get them on if they were dry.
To get a patriotic feel to the place all I did was add two American Flags to the mix and round up throw pillows that had red, white or yellow, and blue in them. I certainly didn’t put much thought into it this year. I’ll keep the look through July until the slips need to be washed again.
If you’re looking for slipcovered furniture I highly recommend the JCPenney Friday Twill Collection , I’ve had mine for 6 years now and have had no issues, no breaking down, this stuff holds up like nobody’s business, it’s so durable.

Sometimes less thought is better because the resulting look Is carefree, casual and summery. I have a love seat that needs recovering or replacing so thanks for the tip on the sofa.
Jane yes sometimes I don’t have time to go all out and no one in my home cares anyway so I may as well make it simple on myself.
You have such a cozy and warm living room….and you always decorate it so perfectly around the holidays and seasons…I used to live near a JC Penney Furniture store and they did have great things! Happy 4th Dawn.
