Mugs

While I was in Menards the other day picking up a few things we needed (yes I love to shop at home improvement stores) I decided to grab an ad and see what item they were offering for free this week. If you didn’t know this, Menards puts items in their flyer every week that are free with rebate. You do have to spend the rebate in the store but that works out perfect for me, I normally use the rebates to purchase toilet paper when they have a great price. I noticed that the free item was coffee mugs…..I don’t even drink coffee but decided to wander over and see what they looked like.

Chalkboard Mug

I’m so excited that I did. These huge, and when I say huge I mean they hold 2 1/2 cups of liquid huge, chalkboard mugs were one of the free designs. Not only are they the perfect color for my homes decor I loved the idea of the chalkboard portion. Of course I had to find someone that worked in the store to bring a huge rolling ladder over, because to get one in every color, and 4 was the free limit, I had to climb clear to the top of the rack to get them. Plus I had to make sure there wasn’t a better choice pushed way to the back that I would prefer.  I happily grabbed them up and headed to the checkout admiring my FREE mugs.

Chalkboard Mugs

When I got home with my new find my wheels started turning and I thought wouldn’t these be cute on my kitchen window sill filled with potted herbs? I could write the herbs name on the chalkboard portion and they would be the perfect winter pick me up. I do have to admit they make for a nice hot chocolate mug too, you can fit plenty of shaved chocolate and marshmallows on top in this generous mug.  I also sent my rebate in and will use it for future purchases….it was a perfect end to a shopping trip.

Just a reminder the first “Christmas Ornament Felt Along” linky party will be live this Sunday January 26th at 6pm. You still have time to join in and the pattern are still available. You can go here to download the patterns and print a material list. Hope to see you back Sunday night πŸ™‚

Those are adorable mugs and even nicer as they were free. I think potting them up with herbs would be a wonderful idea … they could also hold smaller hand utensils, paint brushes, crochet hooks and all sorts of things. How about soup?

I agree your mugs would work perfect for flowers.
    They are just so cute!
But I bet your boys would consider 2 and a half cups
just the right size for hot cocoa too!

They really would look lovely with herbs growing in them, and they are certainly big enough to allow for that! Much more exciting free thing than what you usually choose!! xx

OK, those are just darling Dawn, if I didn’t have snow up the wazoo outside I’d be headed to Menards this morning. These would be great for teacher’s gifts, spring bulbs, primary colored jelly beans for Easter. Hopefully the plow will come down the street sometime today. Thanks for sharing.
