“The Sound of Music” Live
Just a reminder to set your DVR’s to record “The Sound of Music”. It airs Thursday December 5th and it’s live. I can’t wait to see it, I love musicals and the theater. My Mom and I have season tickets to our local theater every year and it is the highlight of our summer. My hubby is not into this type of show so I will record it and watch it alone one afternoon when I can enjoy it.
The show is a 3 hour live staging, based on the original Broadway production “The Sound of Music”, staring Carrie Underwood as Maria von Trapp. It is set in pre-WWII Austria and based on the romantic true story of Maria von Trapp, an aspiring nun who leaves the abbey to become a governess for the widower Captain von Trapp’s seven children and finds herself falling in love with her employer and questioning her religious calling. It premiered on Broadway in 1959, where it broke box office records and won the Tony for Best Musical.
This is something you won’t want to miss, so don’t forget to add it to your holiday calendar of things to watch.

I saw this advertised and thought it sounded interesting! That’s so fun that you and your mom have season tickets to the theater-my friend and I used to go every month, but sadly they closed.

I have had this on my calendar since I first heard that it was coming…The Sound of Music has been a favorite of mine since I was a little girl.. Two of my daughters are coming and bringing their daughters, I can’t hardly wait for Thursday!!!!
