Rustic Natural Decor Fall Porch

HOW TO DECORATE A FALL PORCH USING ONLY PUMPKINS AND MUMS AND INCORPORATING THE EVERYDAY FURNITURE THAT’S USED YEAR ROUND. THE PUMPKINS FADED FAST THIS YEAR WITH WITH THE HEAT REACHING INTO THE 90’S AFTER I DECORATED, BUT WE WERE ABLE TO ENJOY IT FOR A COUPLE OF WEEKS.

I’m winding up my fall décor today and sharing with you a fall porch tour. If you didn’t know it we actually have 4 porches on our house and this is the one that gets decorate the most. It’s on the front of the house where people that drive up can see it and it’s where we sit in the summer months because it has a roof over it.

This year I decided to buy absolutely nothing to decorate with except 2 large mum plants, all the pumpkins were from my oldest sons girlfriends farm. I was lucky she brought me as many as I wanted to use in my décor.

I really wanted it simple, more like people used to decorate. They used what they gathered from around their property, barns, and farms and it always looked so nice.

One of my favorite things for fall is corn stalks, but I didn’t have any this year even though I’m surrounded by cornfields I just never made it to the field to cut any down.

This year I had the porch decorated and then we were bombarded with a week of 90-degree temps, which never happens in Michigan, and the poor picked pumpkins didn’t stand a chance of making it until Thanksgiving. Pumpkins just don’t like the heat once they’re harvested.

I was glad I took the time to snap a few pics before the mums started to fade, by the way they don’t like the heat either, and the pumpkins started to get black spots of rot on them.
