LOOK AROUND, SEE WHAT YOU HAVE, AND FIND A WAY TO USE IN A NEW WAY. THAT’S EXACTLY WHAT I DID. I TURNED MY VINTAGE LITTLE RED WAGON INTO A LIVING COFFEE TABLE IN FRONT OF THE PORCH SWING. I LOADED IT UP WITH AN EASY TO MAINTAIN FERN AND A COUPLE OF POTTED HERBS. NOT ONLY DOES IT BRING COLOR TO THE PORCH, IT’S PRETTY AND THE BIRDS HAVE ENJOYED USING THE FERN FRONDS AS NESTING MATERIAL!

Today’s the day I get together with several other bloggers and share a monthly post for the “Cozy Living Series” hosted by Jennifer from Town-n-Country Living. I’m always honored to be a part of such this group with so many talented girls. At the bottom of this post you’ll see more posts to click on and see what cozy means to them for the month of June.

Vintage Red Wagon Used as a Coffee Table to Hold Herbs and Plants On The Covered Porch

I just love my vintage little red wagon that I scored at the resale shop for $20 and I hate having her hid away so I was determined to find a way to showcase her on the front porch. It sat loaded with vegetable plants for over a month waiting for the weather to turn the corner into planting season. Well that day finally came; I planted the veggies in the garden and the little red wagon looked so lonely.

Not wanting to spend any money on annuals this year I decided I’d add my go to Boston Fern to the base of the wagon and for a little height I added two potted herb plants with a board stretched across the top rung of the wagon and parked it all in front of the porch swing mimicking a coffee table. This wasn’t something I’d planed but I love the look once it was done and decided it was a keeper.

Vintage Red Wagon Used as a Coffee Table to Hold Herbs and Plants On The Covered PorchI love finding ways to use things other than their intended use. In the past I used the wagon in this way around the fire pit, here as a container garden, like this for planting season, at Christmas time, and like this for Fall.  Wow I didn’t realize how often I add my pretty wagon to our décor. After seeing all these ways, I’d say it was $20 well spent!

Laura I’m glad to have something planted in it rather than have it empty for the summer.
