How To Preserve Garden Vegetables
With gardening season coming to an end, it’s now time to harvest and preserve all those fruits and veggies for the coming winter. One of my most satisfying joys is reaching into the freezer or panty to pull out a complete meal from thing grown or hunted from our land.

It always seems like a never ending task of putting up the harvest, but when those cold winter days roll around and the snow is deep I know I wont have to leave the house and make a trip to the grocery store.
Today is the day I get together with the other bloggers for our cozy ideas for September. A big thank you to our hostess Jeniffer for putting it all together and below you’ll find more ideas to click through.
HOW TO PRESERVE CORN

I expanded our raised garden beds this year and added 5 more to the 8 I already had. It was just enough that I could easily manage the planting, weeding, and picking without dreading it.
HOW TO PRESERVE BEANS

I started my seeds indoors under grow lights this year to cut down on the cost of starter plants and that turned out to be one of my best garden decisions. In my small areas Ive managed to supply our family with fresh/frozen or canned veggies until next season. I’ve put up beans, corn, peppers, onions, tomatoes, and cucumbers.
HOW TO PRESERVE ONIONS

I’m sharing with you some of my easy ways to process theses food and to me these are the best ways for maintaining flavor and freshness.

You are so clever, I wish I had your mad skills and patience!
Laurie, I’m not sure I have patience but I do need the food supply for winter so I plug along and get it done!
Yes! I love getting sweet corn out of the freezer or tomatoes from the canning cabinet when it’s below freezing outside. It always reminds me of summer and doing it all over again!
